Mini Hama bead pattern maker

Build a Mini Hama pattern from a photo: each cell is one 2.5 mm Hama Mini bead with its Hama number, and the key counts beads per color. Half the bead size means twice the detail in the same space, which suits portraits and small jewelry pieces.

Sample chart: a strawberry, 29 × 29 beads (2.9 × 2.9 in on 2.5 mm Mini pegboard) in 11 Hama Mini colors. Its background is left unstitched (515 cells of bare pegboard), so the key counts only the motif. Choose a photo to chart your own at 56 beads wide.

What this Mini Hama bead pattern maker makes

Hama Mini beads are 2.5 mm, half the size of Midi beads, and are sold with the same color numbers as many Midi colors. The tool matches only against the Mini range, so every number in the key exists in Mini size.

Because each bead is small, a 56-bead design is only about 14 cm wide. That makes Mini beads the choice for earrings, small portraits and detailed lettering.

How big a Mini Hama bead pattern comes out

Finished width = beads × 2.5 mm. The table uses the nominal grid (2.5 mm Mini pegboard); real pieces vary slightly with the material.

How to read a Mini Hama bead pattern

One square is one Mini bead. Use the 10-bead grid lines to count, and mark finished rows on a printout.

Work with tweezers and place the darkest colors and outlines first; at 2.5 mm it is easier to fit light areas around a fixed outline than the reverse.

Materials for Mini Hama bead patterns

  • Hama Mini beads (2.5 mm) by the numbers in the key.
  • Mini pegboards made for 2.5 mm beads.
  • Fine tweezers, ironing paper and an iron without steam.
  • Good light or a magnifier for long sessions.

Make a Mini Hama bead pattern from a photo

  1. Pick a detailed image

Faces, pets and small text all benefit from the finer grid.

  2. Set the width in beads

Start at 56 and adjust; the finished size updates in centimeters and inches.

  3. Choose the colors

Twelve to twenty colors keeps sorting manageable.

  4. Bead the design

Use tweezers and follow the chart row by row.

  5. Iron carefully

Mini beads fuse quickly; use lower heat and lift the paper to check often.

Tips for Mini Hama bead patterns

  • A short fuse at low heat keeps holes visible and colors true.
  • Mini and Midi beads share many numbers, so the Midi color pages help you find equivalents in other brands.
  • Keep a separate tray per color; mixing tiny beads costs more time than it saves.
  • Pale colors look more alike in real beads than on screen; compare whites and creams in daylight.

Each page lists the color's hex value and its nearest equivalents in other brands by CIEDE2000.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make a Mini Hama pattern from my own photo?

Yes. Upload it, set the width and color limit, and the tool converts it to Hama Mini colors with a bead count per number.

How small are Hama Mini beads?

Hama Mini beads are 2.5 mm, half the 5 mm Midi size, so a design of the same width in beads comes out half as wide.

Do Mini Hama beads use the same numbers as Midi?

Many do: the Mini range reuses the Midi color numbers for the colors it shares, which is why the key can link to the Midi color page of the same number.

How big is an 80-bead Mini Hama bead pattern?

80 beads at 2.5 mm each come out 20.0 cm (7.9 in) wide. A square design that size has 80 rows and 6,400 beads.
